Welcome to issue #38 of the Official XBOX Magazine! This review of Halo makes a claim that I just about what I see in every other magazine I own that covers Halo 2: "HALO 2--THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE REVIEW". Well, it's pretty interesting anyway. I think what's really funny about these magazines covering Halo 2 is that none of them ever mention the Arbiter, who plays a pretty important part in the Halo 2 storyline, right? Obviously to avoid spoilers, but it's funny to read them keep saying "Earth! Earth! Master Chief!" then BAM! You get the game and suddenly you're playing as an alien for half the game, whose story is arguably more important than Chief's. This magazine of course covers parts of the campaign, "jaw-dropping cutscenes," the multiplayer, and hey! This is one of TWO magazines we see an Rtas 'Vadum appearance! (by image). At the end of their review, they rate this game a 9.7/10. Well, there's some pretty interesting advertisements in here too, some that many have seen, but still: The Halo 2 7/11 promotional slurpee cups, the special Halo 2 earpiece with the slogan "Combat Communication Evolved" (pretty cool), and the most well-known one is seen right when you flip the cover page, the phrase "In search of ancient secrets, they will find an unstoppable foe" with the Halo 2 marketing line at the bottom right page: "EARTH WITH NEVER BE THE SAME." Yeah, Halo 2 had some good marketing.
This magazine orginally came with a game demo disc at it's release (that I currently do not own). It is claimed as the "BEST XBOX DEMO DISC EVER! Right... Here's what's on the disc:
