Halo in May of 2001, just months away from its release. I lovee reading the caption on the second page: 'With only seven months left before launch, can [Halo] become the signature XBOX launch title Microsoft needs it to be?" What an interesting thing to read and look back on, who knows if Halo will become the gaming success Microsoft wants, only time will tell! Who knows if this game is going to get remastered and remade, too? And most Halo fans know of the Halo 2 monstrous development cycle, of course straight inspired from the development cycle of its predecessor! Halo: Combat Evolved when through an intense cycle, orignally starting out as RTS game, later changing to third-person, then to first-person after Bungie was acquired by Microsoft, and switching to a PC game to an XBOX console game was a task in of itself, and the team had to wait for Microsoft to deliver the XBOX devkit. Hey... give credit where it's due, Halo 2! This magazine issue released in May of 2001, and Bungie did not officially start on the campaign of Halo: CE until September, 2000. Moving on, this magazine talks about the move from the previous third-person to first-person, the weapons, the vehicles, the... impressive visuals. Even to this day, Combat Evolved at 25 years old, the graphics and atmosphere of the game I hold close, dear to my heart. Hey, you can read more about the development of Halo: Combat evolved right here on Halopedia!
